Buletin Keairan media Informasi Kegiatan Penelitian Keairan, Vol. 2 No. 2, Desember 2009, ABSTRAK : The aim of this gamma ray logging measurement is to dtermine the stratification of rocks and the distribution of aquifers based on the gamma ray values. The objective of the well logging is to determine the depth and the thickness of aquifers and other layers for determining construction of wells, especially in order to decide the position of screens in the aquifers. The interpretation results of the gamma ray logging of aquifers of sand, sandy tuff and breccia vary between 0,91 - 3,13 counter per second. Groundwater in Ciparay area is predicted at the depth of 42-66 m and 75-108 m from the ground surface, consisting of intercalation between young volcanic fan and Bandung lake deposit. It is recommended to extract groundwater from move than 50 m deep, so that there will be no influence to the overlying phreatic aquifer at drilled wells. The minimum requirements of well logging methods for groundwater drilling should consist of resistivity, self-potential and gamma ray logging.
